What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy has evolved since its early beginnings in Osteopathy over 100 years ago. An American, Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, founded osteopathy, following the death of his children from meningitis prompting a change in his line of thinking. An American Osteopath, William Garner Sutherland, subsequently gave birth to Cranial Osteopathy. In the 1970s a third American, John Upledger, further developed this field of work and Craniosacral Therapy was born. Today, Cranial Osteopathy and Craniosacral Therapy continue to develop and to offer much to all ages, from the first breath to the last.

Craniosacral Therapy (from the words Cranium and Sacrum) is a gentle, yet potent, healing tool, offering a non-invasive, hands on approach to healing. Its gentleness makes it particularly suitable for old and young alike and yet for all ages and stages of life.

It's like listening to the language of the body and giving it a chance to see what it needs to get back on track, to recognise, to understand, and to resolve the legacies of life's happenings, that can become locked in the body, often without us realising. It aids the body's ability to self repair, thus helping it to maximise its potential and enhance the quality of your life.
